MATSUOPRO controls every stage in-house — raw Japanese steel, CNC forming, vacuum and cryogenic heat treatment, CNC grinding, hand-honing the convex edge, tension setting, per-piece quality control and laser engraving. No stage is outsourced, which is why hardness and edge are consistent batch to batch.
Unlike resellers, who have no factory to show, many premium own-brands still outsource forging. Our answer to the trust question is to open the workshop instead of describing it.
The 80+ Step Factory Process (condensed)
- Raw material – genuine Japanese steel: 440C, VG10, ATS-314 (Hitachi) and cobalt alloy.
